London Breakout Strategy - 1H Timeframe Modified

You might be confused with EG the other day my friend.

Today’s EG did hit SL yes. Your range was correct and trade was correct as well. Just how the market goes, can’t win them all.

Thank you, CloudNinee and all. I am relieved. I thought I did some mistake for EG. It’s ok that it hit SL. Today’s market is not friendly it seems.

Today - Both EG Buy and GU Sell hit SL today. EU Sell running. GJ no trade.

Hello everyone, wanted to give some more update on this strategy. After running for 2.5 month (july 14-sep 30). I tried EG,GU,GJ,GBPCAD,GBPCHF,EU and recently GBPNZD (only for 2 week) . I have designed an EA and using that everyday. Based on my experience, since last one month I am having almost 50% trade loss. Sometime it just open a sell order and then immediately reverse and hit SL. Even after this behavior I am still able to double my account . Because someday it gives massive profit (e.g this monday I got almost 75 pip in each of these pair) which covers its losses . However on tuesday and wednesday it gives overall loss. Hoping for a good result for rest of the week. If you want to test this strategy through my EA send me a pm and I will be happy to give my EA for testing.

Hi @rtripath, lovely to see this and well done to you for sticking with it.

Also great to see even with the EA which does not have human’s touches when it comes to trading decisions, you are still able to make it work.

Glad I could be of help.

All the best.

Fantastic!!! Your observation is perfectly right.

8AM Candles show huge surge. Is it wise to follow Breakout direction?

I do not think I will be taking many trades tonight.

All four pairs have huge opening candles and wicks.

I think it best to stay away tonight.

I will not take this breakouts, the candles are whey to huge. What do you say @Cloudninee ?

I agree too

Wow those candles are massive, did not expect that. Yea unless you could catch that trend early when it first broke out, I would’nt have traded it.

Also because there are some news on unployment rate on the EUR today so that can affect it. Then on top of that NFP tomorrow. I’d stay away usually on day before and day of NFP. Markets are just not worth it to trade, too risky.

Yes. plus at 10AM BST EU President will formally server legal notice to UK
“BREAKING: The European Commission will send a “letter of formal notice” to the U.K. for breaching the Withdrawal Agreement, the first step in a process that could result in a lawsuit”

Hi @rtripath

Could you provide me the EA? I’m using this strat also and would be good to look into backlog to see how you can avoid different scenarios and improve quality of trading.

Also huge thanks to @Cloudninee for this topic.

this week Monday its all win, tuesday all loss, wednesday 30% win and today 90% win. I have uploaded the EA and also the document for explanation. Hope this helps.

Hey @rtripath, just wanted to say thanks for sharing your EA on this thread for others to try out.

It seems interesting to me too even though I never really got into EAs before.

I have downloaded it and have a read-through of the summary, the only question I have is that the EA doesn’t seem to be able to do one thing that I’d usually do when trading this strategy (or any strategy for that matter) which is to calculate the lot size? As obviously the range each day would be different depending on how it has moved in the last 3 hours before the London opens, so if a trade has a range of say 20 pips and another says a range of 40 pips, the lot size when entered into a trade would be the same so when it hit SL or TP, then the amount lost or won on each trade would be different.

Just a thought.

thanks @Cloudninee for coming up with the idea. You are correct the EA doesn’t calculate lot size. I do that manually while using the EA. As of now I am focussing on securing more win /gaining pips as priority.

You are most certainly welcome. So I guess it’s a team effort :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Regardless, if it’s profitable, it’s profitable. I just thought I’d point that out as it’s the only one thing that stands out to me. All else looks great.

All the best
