MACD and MT4

Does anyone know why the macd in MT4 has only 1 EMA line instead of 2 ? How do you read convergence/divergence with only 1 EMA line ?

the MT4’s MACD is more a MACD histogram + 1 ma line than a regular 2 line MACD.

Use the histogram for conv/div signals. Use the 1 ma line for zero crossover or observe its trend for conv/div signals too.

Dear friend,

Is it possible for me to construct an MACD with 2 lines instead of 1 on my MT4 platform ?
If it is possible, can you help to guide me how to do it ?
I really appreciate your help

google macd indicator there are many custom ones to choose from

If you’re using IBFX simply go to their website and download “Traditional MACD”. It will go into your Custom Indicies file. Next time you accesss the platform, there it will be.

Thanks for replying everyone, so the histogram outline can be read as the other EMA ? I have my macd at the default settings

Fast EMA 12
Slow EMA 26
MACD SMA 9

Would I be right to assume the Fast EMA is the red signal line, The slow EMA is the histogram outline and the MACD SMA is the periods used to make the histogram ?
