Hi Brak,
Will this be useful? Forex Market Hours - Forex Market Time Converter
It tells you which markets are currently open relevant to your time zone.
Yes it is thanks, but I’m looking to know also behavior, trading activity of various pairs in relation to these zones.
Cordially,
Brak
Hello,
Normally a currency go higher on value when their home session is closed a go lower on value when the session is open.
This is easy to explain. When their home session is closed people from other parts of the world are buying that currency, when is open people from the home session are buying other currencies. This for commercial reasons non-speculative.
But this is weak for speculation. At least in my modest opinion.
On the first/last 10-15 minutes of a session it seems to exist more volatility, as well when sessions overlap.
Hope it helps something.
Good luck
thanks, this is exactly the kind of information i’m looking.
I don’t understand why you say people are buying other currency than theirs within their session.
Can you elaborate a bit please, as well as give an example with, lets say, USD/JPY .
Thanks
Because when the Japan session is open Japaneses buy USD (and other currencies) for comercial reasons (import goods for example). The oposite happens when the New York session is open, Americans buy JPY (and other currencies) for comercial purposes.
Hope it helps.
Unlike most other trading markets, the FX market is open for trade 24 hours a day. Three major trading periods define the daily FX market, namely the Tokyo Trading Session, the London Trading Session, and the New York Trading Sessions. Generally, the FX market is most active when sessions overlap with a US/Europe overlap between 8 AM - 12 PM (New York Time) and a Europe/Asia overlap between 2 AM - 5 AM (New York Time).
