Markets close before they actually close?

I’m sorry if this sound like a total noob question, but its newbie island so ya!

I just logged in, and it says on my platform that markets will close in 45:30 Thats in minutes, so they should still be open for the next 44 to 45 mins? So Near every instrument it has a © Near its name, for example EUR/USD © which should mean that its closed, before the markets close? Or how does that actually work, why are they closed and I can’t trade before the timer runs off? Thanks.

Oh I remembered something I wanted to ask on the same topic, When I view them charts, even tho it has the big © Near its name, the chart is still moving, bulls and bears are still buying/selling, chart is trending, is that normal for a closed market? Thanks.

I’m not sure about the c next to the currency pairs. The markets stop moving at 5pm New York time. Sometimes it will stop a little before or after, but only because people are finished trading a little early, or there are some stragglers after 5 messing with their trades which may move the price a pip or two. It may be that the broker you’re using will stop the flow of data from their servers to yours so that when time runs our on your platform regardless of what is happening, everything stops.
