It’s crazy how so many things are happening. Just a few hours ago, the president of South Korea declared an emergency martial law. Makes me feel like WW III can really happen. But I wonder if this will have any effect on any of the currencies?
Pretty odd scenario in S Korea today. Declaring martial law does not seem to have been justified, but then we don’t know what the president knows.
Actually, once martial law is declared in a country, its army decides whether it’s justified. They have the option of a military coup I suppose, or they could decide that they don’t want to run the country and go with what the country’s parliament says.
This is probably going to be quite negative short-term for AUD, NZD and all Asian currencies, though AUD/USD is already recovering from the shock of the news.
Yeah. But tbh, I think it’s a global thing at this point. So much happening all around the world and it’s been crazy. Interestingly though, the declaration was immediately overturned just a few hours after it was declared. But it still had a huge impact on the people. The economy? I’m not so sure.
Were you able to trade this news? I don’t really trade AUD and NZD but I wonder if it indeed had this slight impact.
