Meta Trader 4 Freeze up!

Hi, I’ve been using Forex Trader PRO (practice) and since my 30 days free trial would be up soon decided to make the switch to Meta Trader 4.

So I’ve made my account and gotten things set up and it worked fine at first. But now, not even a days use in my charts wont update and the time is stuck. Im shown as connected and i’ve made new accounts, restarted, re-installed, tried repair, but my charts just wont update!

This is really frustrating, I’ve looked online and people have reported similar problems but to no solution. If Meta Trader is no good what is a good alternative that is free and has a free demo account?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

ps. im using the “Meta Trader 4 at Forex.com” client on windows 7.

Did Forex Trader PRO (practice) allow you to trade on the weekends when the market is closed?

I think so I remember trading on Sunday and i’ve been using it for ~2 weeks I think. The regular mt4 client does the same thing as the forex mt4. So if the markets are closed (fri-sat?) it wont update and you cant trade then?

Forex market closes on Friday 5 pm EST (10:00 pm/22:00 GMT) and opens on Sunday 5 pm EST (10:00 pm/22:00 GMT).
