I really like the MT platform but my broker doesn’t allow it so I do all my charting in MT. Is there a demo in MT for any broker that doesn’t expire? I know I can just keep recreating demo accounts, but it’s a pain.
How is recreating a new demo account a pain?
It only takes 3 seconds.
And why does anyone need a non-expiring
demo account anyway? What is the point?
My accounts with ODL and IBFX both created in May have not expired. But what you do is, open Explorer and drag all your indicators and profiles and templates to the new MT4 provider. Use Control + to drag so they will be copied, not elimiated from the original.
That way your templates etc follow you if you have to switch providers or in my case, I use two or more testing different strategies in different demo accounts.
Hope that helps
Because in my experience, you have to redo all your charts, loading up all your templates and whatnot. It’s just something I’d rather not do.
Thanks for the help.
hi connan
i have a demo account with alpari uk, its mt4 and doesn’t expire.
hope this helps.
I recommend you Alpari, it doesnt expire, ive never had problems with them…
i thing i like alpari too.how do u set lot size on alpari’s mt4 platform
Alpari demo accounts expire after 90 days, if you download MT4 from the metatrader website it has a non expiring demo trading account Forex Trading Platform MetaTrader 4
FX pro does not expire. I use it to chart.
I use IBFX, it doesn’t expire
Same here. I’ve had an IBFX demo account for over 2 years and it never expired while I was using it. They do expire after 30 days if you don’t use them though…
While IBFX has a never expiring demo account, it does not offer every currency pair. I recommend you open a small $25 micro account with an MT4 broker, perferably IBFX as they do not charge for Inactivity Fees. Consider it a one time expense to have access to infinite charting for all currencies.
Why does my IBFX demo account says its a 30 day demo?
nevermind, figured it out
Google MetaTrader4, should be the first listing then click on Forex Trading Platform Meta Trader 4, then download and its yours forever
I’ve just tried to login to my Alpari UK demo and it’s expired.
Setting up a demo takes very little time and as for having one indefinitely, sorry but most brokers provide demo accounts with a time cap…
One of the reasons to use a non expiry account is to track all your performance and statistics.
If you reset each time, its impossible to build a one year trackrecord to have a realistic overview before going to live.
IMHO
Oanda is non expiring even if you don’t use it for over a month, some will delete your account if you don’t use it once per month so just take note of that.
And as the post above by stoploser says, I totally agree, useless having your records dead & gone after one month, totally useless!
It would make more sense to move to a nano or micro after the four weeks are up than to stick with a demo for a year - just my two cents…
