Don’t get your hopes up with mobile trading. I don’t know about smart phone and such but I had a pocket pc running metatrader mobile and it kinda sucked.
You need good resolution for a proper terminal window plus…and this is the HUGE negative factor, if you go with metatrader mobile you can’t use custom indicators or templates.
You have to use the stock ones that are included with metatrader.
So if you use a non-standard one, you can’t trade exactly as you do at home.
Best advice for you is to buy a small laptop, like the sony vaio’s small one, or that sony mini computer.
It’ll give you all the power you need in a small form factor. Believe me, I did mobile trading for like 2 weeks before deciding home based was FAR superior.
dont get a blackberry they suck you canoot find live charts other than vtrader mobil and trust me if you think mt4 mobile sucks you aint seen nothin!!! the vtmobil is the worst trading platform ive ever seen. blackberry is ill equiped for traders.
Thanx guys. I was just thinking bout getting a blackberry to trade on the go with. Apparently your advice has helped me finalise my decision. I truly respect anything said from this site. So Virtecs u dont even advise mobile trading @ all. I think I’ll just take ur advise then… Thanx!
I bought a small 10" screened computer with an internet stick from the service i use with my phone. Works awesome. I would caution useing while driving, lol.
If like me you want to keep Blackberry because of Outlook sync’ing and other functionality, I suggest the following as the two best brokers for B’Berry mobile:
Interactive Brokers - charting looks pretty impressive (TWS for B’Berry offering). Downside is I think its $20k you need to open an account, plus they are focused on large clients - multi routing orders etc.
GFT - Their B’Berry offering is everything except charts so could e.g. close out a position triggered by alarm or amend stop but unless you can see a chart (haven’t resolved this yet!) wouldn’t recommend opening a new position. Having said that, not sure I would ever be comfortable opening a position off a phone - I use four screens as it is to check everything before trading so a phone is never going to replicate this. . .
my opinion stick with windows mobil. I have had them in the past and mt4 is not that bad as long as you realize that it is a stripped down version. I have an asus eee its great all the functionality of a laptop or desktop. I still stick to my guns blackberry sucks big time!!! iphone has forex otg which is good but it is a $20 a month unless you use there broker. The good news is they seem to work on just about any mt4 broker.
Maybe you know already because we are now in 2013. You can use for android smartphones, the MT4 app from play.google.com. It is a very good app and works without any problem. Also for the windows smartphones are very good metatrader apps.
