MT4 problem that i dont need to fix. But

Hi guys. I am having a little trouble with mt4, namely with organizing pairs. When i click on a pair and hit ‘delete’ nothing happens. In some cases it works, but i could never get the set i wanted. Any ideas how can i fix it…?!
ps: here is what i tried and failed:

  1. even after i bought new laptop, the problem was still there.
  2. i created custom .set file in notepad but when i open mt4 and select the set, it adds the ones that i put in the file, but the ones that already in my screen are still there too.

Make sure you have every chart closed(ctrl + f4 in the main window) - add back the symbols you want and restart mt4. If you have open orders (on a pair you want to remove) it won’t let you remove the symbols neither. Basically just close all charts - have no orders open and remove everything you don’t want, add the ones you want back. Should then be the default list everytime you start metatrader.

that didnt work either.cant get rid of forex pairs. but tnx for trying dan.

Hey kwon - that sucks, there isn’t a file you can modify for default symbol set - are you sure there are no charts open at all ? Are you running a broker specific mt4 installation ?
