Mt4 trader not updating?

Hi Everyone,

I just downloaded MT4 trader and am not impressed. I find the learning curve very steep, and the interface clunky and complicated. Right now my big problem is that the darn charts don’t refresh with new data unless I press the refresh button! How do I fix this?

I think it does that the first time you run it, close all the open charts and open new ones. Also make sure auto scroll is on.

Thanks. I have shut it down several times and restarted by no luck. It says at the top of the window OFFLINE, yet the Market Watch tick chart is working. I try to login and I get the springy sound effect.

Also, is it possible to clean up the timeline on the bottom? It keeps repeating the date which makes reading the time confusing and hard to do.

ok shut down the charts not MT4, if that doesn’t work, open another demo account.
Check on the bottom for connectivity, it should be green like this pic.

Okay, it looks like I have to open up another demo account.

BTW, just a general question, if a candle breaks through a take profit level but falls back down, does that trigger the sell order? I am playing “FXgame”, not MT4 as it doesn’t work, and the candle broke through my Take Profit level but did not trigger it. Does the candle have to close above to trigger it, or just go above it while it is still active?

that must be the spread, meaning that the bid price never reached the price you have set for take Profit.
