MT4 with Alpari not updating charts

Not sure where to post this, so I am posting this here. I’m running a demo account with Alpari and I’m running MT4. It hasn’t been updating the charts since last night. The Marketwatch window is stuck at 22:59:59, so the time isn’t updating. The connection is ok and I’m logged in. I tried the 3 demo servers, but it only connects to the first 2 demo servers. Is something wrong with Alpari?

Look for tomorrow night if it’s working again. CET 24:00.

They have this problem all weekends.

Anyways, if you would ask them to open their shop 7 days, go ahead please …

Seriously? How are they one of the recommended traders? If the forex is on 24/7 you should have it on all the time. I’ll just use them until my demo expires, but it will be hard because I have a lot of free time on weekends.

Thanks

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say your platform will work just fine starting tomorrow between 5 and 6 PM EST.

Maybe earlier. I don’t know exactly what time Alpari kicks on.

Markets are probably closed, the time in MT4 is updated with each tick, no new ticks no new time. I believe IBFX does the same thing however if its not working tomorrow or monday then you have a problem but I’m sure it’ll work sunday night.

Ha ha, yes seriously. Forex markets never sleep or close, but that doesn’t say brokers don’t sleep. Most banks have closed also on weekends and liqui is very thin while spreads are huge. Weekends is generally either for exchange (you know those travellers around at airports) or gamblers. Why not look for another time waster around weekends? How about a Las Vegas trip, lol.

How about a Las Vegas trip, lol.

sounds good to me. can I join you?

For all practical purposes, Forex trading is only a 5 day event.

I have a demo with AlpariUK which has just restarted at midnight broker time, which is 11pm London time.

Thanks everyone! I kinda feel stupid now…lol. I was thinking they would at least let the ticks run and disable all trading, but that is not the case. No problem. I will continue with my learning…

Thanks again.
