MT4: wrong Profit is shown

Hey Folks!
Trust me i really wouldnt dare to ask this (maybe…) newbieish question, but ive searched all forums for like an hour and couldnt find anything. Anyway i hope you can help me!

My Profile: into forex for 1 month, demo-account at IG, Platform: MT4

My Problem: MT shows me a wrong profit (?)

Example: Im taking a short Position at 1.6732, of course MT shows me a negative Profit like for example “-5€” (because of the Spread), Pip goes down to 1.6730 - im still negative but a little less like: “-1,80€”, Pip goes down to 1.6710 - profit shows: “-4,40”

im sorry that i dont have the real numbers, next time i try to remember.

Ive tried this with different Lot-Sized and different Markets…

It could be possible that your broker increased the spread without your realisation.

Should always check with your broker before posting on these forums. He can explain things much easier than us. We just guess.

Apart from spread widening, could have also been intraday fee’s when moving from one day to the next (actual times will be published via your broker) - although I believe IG is Spread Betting rather than margined FX trading.
