Using MT5 on my iPhone, I had accumulated 5 sell orders on USD/JPY between 5:30pm and 6:20pm yesterday (June 4).
Orders were between 124.378 and 124.616. Totaled up 12 lots.
Let these sit for about 7 hours and tried to buy out an hour ago when JPY was around 124.325. Net gain was around 200pips or USD1,300.
When I went to close the order, the interface wasn’t the usual trade interface with “buy (blue), sell (red), and close (big and orange)” buttons. It had a single button that said “Request” in blue.
Not knowing what do to, I clicked the request button and THEN the normal trading buttons popped up.
I tapped buy to close my sell orders and the order disappeared from my trade list, but it never showed up in my trade history and my account balance never reflected the profit. It’s been about an hour and I’ve logged off and back on several times, and also tried restarting the app to try and force a refresh.
What’s the deal with this? I couldn’t find any mention of this “request” button in the MT5 iOS documentation.
Thank god this is a demo account. If this kind of nonsense happened on a live account I’d be livid. Really shakes the faith in the metatrade system. Would love an explanation.
