How can I master multi-timeframe analysis, such as the 15-minute, 1-hour, and 4-hour timeframes?
It’s what a lot of this book is about, and I recommend it (in preference to online information, and particularly in preference to Youtube and forum “information”) as a really good starting-point.
These are actually too far away for multi time frame analysis. You should be looking for closer time frames for example, 5m, 15m and 1 h
Personally I use the M5 and M30 time frames. I would recommend you check out Alex Elder as he has a method for it.
I might be able to help you out here. The time frame has nothing to do with price action. If you look back on multiple time frames you’ll notice price pays no attention to timeframes. Sometimes price will cross a weekly timeframe in a day. Likewise the shorter timeframes. Instead, look to the open, high, low, and close on the longer timeframes.
To further illustrate this point, I’ll do what I don’t usually do and call a trade for illustration purposes only. You’ll notice today at 09/09/24 00:17 GMT both the S&P and NAS100 are retesting the weekly low. Almost always, price will retest a low or high before moving in the opposite direction on all time frames. Therefore, I’m currently looking at the daily close on both of the aforementioned. There I will enter a long, targeting the daily gap range on NAS100 at 18577 and the S&P at 5445.
