So I am assuming correctly that you will get both your friends EA and the other traders EA… Without you contributing anything?
I contribute my time and effort to finding an equivalent EA for the exchange to take place to the benefit of both parties.

Any EA coder who has any experience keeps proprietary work closely guarded… That’s why this makes no sense… I would never give any profitable EA away without monetary compensation.

That’s your right, just like other coders have a right to exchange their developments with each other to their mutual benefit.
That is correct - on a condition I won’t share them with anyone and use them solely for my private trading. That will be my reward for making the exchange happen.

And then of course the “long time member” who you are using as the medium of exchange also gets the two EAs without doing much either…

True, on the same condition as me. It won’t hurt either side of the exchange if two more people are privately trading with their EAs.

Just making sure it’s clear to whoever may want to do this that they are giving their EA away for free to two other middlemen who will be using it… As well as the ultimate recipient.
If the other party to the exchange insists, I can even arrange for their personal meeting with my friend, provided there’s sufficient trust and interest between the two. That way the exchange will take place directly at their meeting, with me getting both EAs subsequently from my friend. Plus, I feel a great personal contact of two market pros will be established. Yes, it is a matter of something you have long forgotten yet what one can do no business without - a thing called trust.

Well to someone like you in their 50s who grew up in a different world, trust probably means something entirely different then it does in today’s world… Not necessarily a bad thing… Definitely a generation gap … Or two.
Especially on the Internet, and even more especially on a forex trading forum, trust is the first step towards getting burned.

Hmmm… I don’t know about giving away or exchanging EAs base on trust alone. It needs to be more than that… An exchange of something valuable has to be atleast equal of what the other party is willing to bring in into the table…and It has to be written on a legal document of what both parties are agreed upon and signed by both as well therefore if anything happens, they have some proof to show for… I don’t know something is not right…
It is. For someone like me, public forums exist to exchange ideas, developments, and establish new professional connections. For others like you, they provide venue for expressing their discontent with other people’s success. The latter sure is of no benefit to the forum community whatsoever.
