clark and others ā¦ how do you test your ea for long periods like 2000 till today on āevery tickā data ? mt5 stops after about 25% of testing period cause my memory is too small (8 gb).
You can back test in blocks of sizes that your computer hardware can support. For myself, I have several computers. My main one is liquid cooled, overclocked to 4.8GHz and 32GB of RAM; very rarely will I get limited by my hardware. When it does happen, I allocate different tasks amongst all my computers. Even then, sometimes it takes a few days.
Also the software you are running the tests on will affect speed and resources on your computer. You can try other platforms as well.

i was hoping i could avoid that.
i tried the mql5-cloud to do the calculations and some agents are able to handle such big amount of data, but most dont. does anyone know if i still have to pay for the agent when the calculation is aborted by the agent due to low memory ?
