Hello there,
i would like to ask if somebody could tell me what could be the problem here.
I am using a broker with GMT+2 chart/server time during standard/winter time and GMT+3 if summer time is active.
The actual UK session open is always 08:00 am local UK time no matter if winter/summer.
I am using the MT4 trading platform. I installed a session indicator called “4 Sessions” to highlight the UK session open to me. The indicator has options to adjust for daylight saving times and is set to summer=3, winter=2.
Now i would assume that for any date scrolled back in time where we had still summer time in place, the UK open to be located at the start of the 11:00 price candle. (08:00 +3).
However the actual UK open on the chart below for October 29 is at the start of the 10:00 H1 price candle marked my the red vertical line.
The indicator as expected plotted the start of the UK session at the correct 11:00 time
It’s kind a confusing me. In this case i would NOT have to adjust for daylight saving times and keep having the indicator start drawing the box at the start of the 10:00 instead of using 11:00 during summer time?
I would basically like to manually scroll back a complete year of past price action having the correct UK Open automatically highlighted at the right spot on my chart no matter if summer/winter time was in place.
The chart below shows the UK open for the summer time date Oct 29 at 10:00 instead 11:00. For last Friday where it was already winter time the UK open marked by the indicator is shown correct at 10:00.
