First day on the baby pips website, it’s been an exciting and educational day First quiz done … Yay
I’m a molecular microbiologist, PhD candidate final year Adelaide, South Australia, 29yr old. I realised a while ago that even though I enjoy what I do most of the time (experiments are fun), being a scientist is not what I want to do with my life. So I started talking to a friend of mine who is a financial advisor and she said ‘what about trading’ ? to be honest 6 months ago I had no idea what that was Now look at me signed up and back in preschool haha.
I’m very glad I have a friend who has told me about baby pips and has helped me start this new adventure in my life.
Glad to be apart of it
Welcome, interesting intro.
Continue with the school for a couple of months and open a demo account. That way you can familiarise yourself with the trading platform (mt4 is most popular) and watch how the various pairs behave at different times of the day, during news events, etc.
Dont waste good money on courses, save it for your first account and start trading micro lots (0.01)
Good luck
Welcome to the site. Given your currently chosen career field, you will be no stranger to the idea that the more you know the better you are likely to be at something. The same applies to trading. I wish you well on your endeavors.
I’ll echo the other comments about saving your money and use a demo account, get familiar.
Also try the website myfxbook too where you will find many profitable (and some unprofitable) traders publishing their stats. Look at their strategy descriptions and then Google those strategies to see what suits you.
Hi Gary, JD4 and eddieb, thanks for the advice I’m defiantly spending time getting to understand the in’s and out’s before I put my own money in, I have heard of some depressing stories about people losing thousands in there first few months by jumping in to quick. My friend said learn this website in and out then! I can ask advice but she won’t help until i have finished school which as you said being in the scientific field I completely understand. I’m actually really enjoying the school lessons and tests I think it has been set up realy well for people to easily learn.
