New here

Hey guys. As you can see by my join date i’m familiar with this site, but have never made a single trade and i’m very new.

A customer told me about FX a long time ago, and because i was skeptical about it, i never jumped in. Until now.

Id like to do FX kind of as a side income. Nothing too deep to start. I’m 33 years old in Vancouver. However over the next few years id like to set myself up for retirement (by 60) and have something to fall back on. I figure over the next 20-25 years I should be experienced enough (cross fingers).

I am however curious how many people here do FX as a full time job? Do most of you do it on the side for extra cash, or do a lot people make this a permanent thing?

Also, being from Vancouver, my timezone is not ideal for FX i’ve found. Looks like any overlapping markets (Tokyo/London or London/NY) are super early in the mornings. I dont want to do FX from 1-3am or 5-7am. Thats silly. Any advice? Or will this just be a inconvenient issue for me, or not at all?

Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Hello! Nice to see you posting in our forum community. To gain that kind of experience and expertise over the next 20-25 years is indeed possible but you have to be willing to put in the work day in and out. I’m pretty sure there’s a good mix of traders here that trade forex full-time and those who just do it on the side.

How about the NY/Tokyo overlap if you’re interested to trade the session overlaps? I figure that would be late at night in your side of the world?
