Newbie advise

Hi all , great forum and I am a total newbie to this so I dont want to start off on the wrong foot by asking silly questions that have been asked a thousand times.
Would someone reccomend where a newbie should start, should I buy a course on ebay etc.
I have not bought anything yet , neither have I downloaded any platforms OR taken advise etc.
I hope to make forex when I have learnt more a part time income and hope to start with €500 and make small profits and hopefully more in the long run, many thanks and I hope to talk with many of you over the next few weeks , Dave

Ps, where do I start

Use the school here on babypips, don’t even think of buying a course. All in the info you need is free

Would you suggest using a bot and an expert advisor also any reccomendations

Before getting a bot you should know what those things are doing. For that reason you should, as Jezzode also suggested, begin by reading the babypips school.

As a beginner myself (started here at the site about 4 months ago), I also thought a bot would be perfect. Just let it run and rake in cash. But don’t get your hopes up, bots aren’t as good as they seem because there are way to many variables that need to be tweaked and the market can always change.

Definately stay away from Bots unless you have intimate knowledge of the market, know your reoccurring phenomenon to exploit and can program yourself. Basically not even remotely good for beginners unless you want to just lose some money, better just go to a casino it will be more fun.

Yes the babypips school here is great, and a lot of pro traders here freely give knowledge. Check out Eremarket, ICT and Nikitafx threads. All pros but with different styles. The some other good threads are all the alternative technical templates threads. That’s enough to take you a few months to get through. Good luck on your forex journey.

That’s great guys many thanks for your advise , I’ll start looking in the school. , do you know if there is a starting point or will I just read threw the posts

Start with school section and read it all. If you wanna buy a course so do it, buy the most expensive one so you can commit seriously. Start with yourself, forget about greed and pride, learn how to control emotions (belive me it is not easy), if you have a dangerous ocupation use your emotional skills upon your favor. The most important thing here is not about winning big, it is about losing small and remain confident after each smack on your face. Most traders are smart enough to make an analisis but they are stupid enough to let loses run. Whe all been trought it. THe one who claims that he or she doesn’t, is a complete liar.

The babypips school isn’t a forum post, it is a series of lessons structured perfectly for beginners. You can find it here: Forex Training Online: Learn Foreign Exchange (FX) Currency Trading

These are some great tips and replies many thanks again I’ll follow that link and start learning now , thanks

Jezzode deserves a consultancy fee for giving you the most important piece of advise in your trading career  All the information you need is free and babypips provides excellent information in the school plus the added bonus of these forums.

A 12 week course will not prepare you well enough and the ring binders or DVD of information they will leave you with will probably be ripped from babypips

Be patient in your learning. It will take longer than you expect or want it to but the experience and knowledge you accumulate will inform your trading decisions and also your judgement if you decide to venture into more exotic areas like commissioning third party software to manage your money.

Just started in pre school in baby pips , why on earth didn’t I start this yrs ago. These guys should be charging for these lessons , there so good and quite fun.
Jumping the gun a little here if I am to become a trader what do I need apart from good broadband , is it a m4 platform from a broker and an expert advisor as I said I may be from Ireland but I’m really green to this , thanks for all your support

All you need to do is click on this link and download MT4 and follow the instructions to open a demo account.

Forex Trading Platform MetaTrader 4

I guess i should also be saying at this point that Meta Trader is not your only option, so perhaps put in some research. Although it will suffice your needs at this stage.
