I am thinking about using Oanda. Are they any good?, I will be starting by only adding 10GBP to my account. Will that be enough to get a feel for things without going in to deep to fast ?
just use their free trade account it never expires
Just use Oanda’s platform. That way, you can size your lots proportionately.
There’s a limit to how small you can break down your lot sizes with Oanda if you use Metatrader there, (I think nano is the smallest) but you can break lot sizes down to single units if you use their proprietary platform.
And I say go live as soon as you can.
Demo trading does nothing to develope your emotional side. In fact, it’s probably a detriment, as failure has no real loss attached.
But stay with the tiny lots until you can at least consistently break even.
with Oanda’s java platform (not metatrader) you can trade as small as 1 unit of base currency. That’s the way I try various trading ideas using real money rather than using demo.
