The attached ZIP file contains two CSV files. Both files contain data for the 52,684 news announcements that have appeared on Forex Factory’s news calendar between Jan 1, 2007 and Nov 10, 2018. The timestamp on each news event is New York time (either GMT-4 or GMT-5, depending on whether New York was on daylight saving time at the time of the event). Both files contain exactly the same data, however the first file is sorted by date and time, the second file is sorted by country and the event description. The format of each row (news event) is:
“date”,“time”,“currency”,“impact”,“event description”,“actual value”,“forecast value”,“previous value”,“revised from”,“FF event ID#”
This CSV data can be easily imported into software like Microsoft Excel, for further analysis.
The software used to extract the data is not available.
When I get some spare time I plan to write a sister app to extract data from Babypips’ news calendar. It shouldn’t be a big job as both calendar’s HTML formats are very similar. However it seems that Babypips’ data goes back no further than around the third week of January 2017.
Oops… I attempted to upload the file and got the message “New users can’t upload attachments”. Ah well, I guess that’s too bad that I can’t share something that might be useful to the Babypips community. That’s a shame, because I’ve also written a ton of MT4 EAs and indicators that I could have shared later, also.
