Number of hours daily put into trading + education

Hi everyone,

I am just a fresh trader preparing start out live next year after 6 months of demoing. I currently also have a full time day job, so trading time is limited at night for 4-5 hours after dinner (trading the last hours of Landon open and beginning hours of NY open)

On my spare time during the commute to work and back, I read good trading books, esp the ones recommended here. That’s another couple of hours.

I think I should be doing fine, since I am breaking even with a little profit in demo trading. There is also the ‘10000 hour mastery rule’… At best I am lacking someone to coach me out in trading? Being self taught can be really difficult. Maybe someone else more experienced than me can comment better?

(FYI I gave up on asking these questions in kreslik.com…)

How many hours do you put in daily for trading?

Trade 4 to 5 a day.
Study stuff 3 hours a day, and that’s every day!

How about starting fresh? What you have been reading doesn’t work because it is based on “illusions”. Ask yourself why do 95% of traders lose if all this information is available?

Stop by the FOREX STORE and you’ll see for yourself.

I dropped in and read as you suggested. Very interesting and informative for new traders. Then I realised that it was all just an illusion.

Good one!!

Hi
Congratulations. Being self taught is good. However, as you have developed your own system it is hard for anyone to coach you specifically. I am sure that you are aware that there is a difference between Demo trading and live trading. Keep asking questions here will help your developement, but will also elicit all manner of response, some good, some bad and some total B/S. Keep what works for you and dump the rest. The hours you put into trading depends on the type of trader you are. I trade 12 -14 hours every day and have done for more than 5 years. This to many is excessive and over trading but my bank manager does not agree.
best regards

Dave
