Oanda is not allowed for Alberta traders, can i use a different bank account from another country to trade with Oanda while physically living in Alberta?

Hi all! So i just started learning about Forex and i’m planning to use Oanda. However i live in Alberta, Canada where forex trading isn’t allowed. I am originally from Singapore so i have a bank account back there.

My question is does it matter where i’m currently residing in? Can i trade with my bank account in Singapore while i’m physically living in Alberta?

Yeah you could. But dont go round telling everyone. You would need to have proof of residence in the other country. Also check out this thread

Hello Everyone, I’m from Alberta Canada and have been studying for the past 2 months with the Oanda demo account w/ Meta Trader 4 and would like to start trading with real money very soon. I was recently disappointed to find out that Oanda does allow trading for Albertans… Therefore I’d like to know, which forex brokers are you signed up with? Any safe Australian brokers anyone can recommend?? Any input would be amazing. Thank you!

That’s how people trade from countries where Forex trading is illegal, either that or using a friend/ family member’s offshore account.
