I was just on the Oanda site and the EUR/USD spread was 10 PIPS! What is the deal? They usually have tight spreads. All the spreads seemed incredibly high. I went th my FXSol account and the spreads were normal.
I’ve noticed that too with North Finance…it only seems to happen at the open of the market after the weekend. Then a few hours later it settles down to normal.
Ya I just figured that out. I was on the site scouting around and saw they raise their spreads up over the weekend. I would think they would have lowered it by now though. The market has been open for hours.
These times are all GMT so you will need to convert
them to your own time zone.
Oanda increase the spread at approx. 2100hrs on Friday
(1hr before NY close?) until 0100 hrs on Monday morning
(Tokyo open?).
I was watching the market at 7:15 est and that is when the spread on the EUR/USD was 10.
So you needed to wait until 2000hrs for the spreads
to contract.
Yes, but not sure why. I have been trading live on FxSol for months and the spread doesn’t raise over the weekend. Also, last time I checked, the market does’nt open at 8:00 pm est on Sunday. I was a little upset having to wait to enter a trade until they decided to lower the spread.

The best action then is to keep trading Fxsol when the
markets are closed over the weekend. 
Are you also saying that you trade on Saturday with Fxsol?
No I don’t trade Saturday, I like to be able to place trades at market open on Sundays at 5:00 est. I will just have to live with it.
