Oanda stoploss wrongly triggered

So I took this buy trade this morning. The bottom blue line is where my stoploss is. The red arrow is the candle I entered the trade on. As you can see on the chart, price never got below .6830 yet oanda is saying my stoploss was hit down at. 6816. What are my options to try to rectify this? Thanks in advance.

It looks like the wicks touched the stoploss level. If Im seeing it correctly.

The lower blue line is the stoploss. It was 15 pips away

I’m red green colourblind - why put blue on black ? White with blue or black is fine .

However in answer to your question, when the movements occur, the spreads go wappy. That is controlled by your broker - tough break but that’s what happpened here IMHO !

You’re right. Spreads widened to 20 pips. Why is it legal for them to do that? Just curious.

It’s not within my remit to control that - Sorry

Why should it be illegal? They are pretty up front about how floating spreads work - meaning you probably agreed to the floating spread somewhere in their terms and conditions - and you can always chose a broker that offers fixed spreads if you prefer. Of course, fixed spreads tend to be higher than floating spreads…

Spreads are how the brokers manage their risk, and they change according to the demand/volatility/whatever that the broker feels makes working with that currency more or less risky. It’s no different than a bookie changing their odds in response to how risky a given bet appears to be.

Of course, what happened to you sucked, and I’m sure it’s happened to all of us from time to time. Just remember to include the spread in your backtesting/trade management; on the time-frames lower than the D1 the spread is often a big part of the movement being traded.
