i was watching the AUD/USD today looking for an entry, i noticed some phantom price action on Oanda’s platform. I have software that shows real market prices, i use that for my charting and then use oanda for my orders.
image 1:
notice how the last swing low doesnt fall to a level below the previous two swing lows (real market data)
image 2: last swing low fell to a much lower level than the previous two ( oanda data)
now i understand that their prices arent market prices but i would expect price action to be the same.
Why? Market makers are exactly that. Tom Yeomans used to do a trick where he would put up simultaneous price feeds from several different brokers. A real eye opener. In addition you refer to a real market price. There is no such thing and even the ECN s use 1 of 2 major networks
