On Scalping!

Hi all

Its been a minute since I been on here. I had a terrible case of the flu. I attached a book a friend found on scalping I breezed through it. Its good for understanding the basics of scalping. I hoped I help alot of people so far and made some people understand scalping.

Pablo, That book is so helpful. Thank you very much for putting that on here…Your opinion on something please…I’m considering scalping the recommended pairs, but also keeping a swing trade going in the mean time…sound like a good idea to you?

These few days, the market is in a downtrend. It is very good for scalping. A scalper can simply make many good pips.

Hi Pablo, thanks for sharing the ebook. By the way, do you have other ebooks by the same author?

Much appreciated Pablo. I need all the help I can get.

Any market is good for scalping. Dont over think assess the market then trade.

Robert Borowski is awesome it was his forex freedom that inspired me in the beginning and it was a map how to earn $30,000 from $300 in 6 months. he’s doing some sort of secret forex project these days ive been waiting for details from his website.

Pablo Pluto,
I’ve been reading your post for sometime now. You seems to be specialised in scalping and has been making a decent living off it. I like to know which broker are you using and do you have any problems with them on scalping?
I have been an avid fan of yours and i have demo traded your strategy with excellent results, but i have been reading that usually live results usually differ alot ( mostly negative results) due to brokers manipulation and such.

Appreciate your response.

I use Oanda. There has been problems as the spread would change all the time. it would go from .9 to 2.5 pips. They use java which it would be slow sometimes but its rare. I use to use limit orders and they wouldnt get hit. Oanda charges like $25 for a withdrawal. I withdraw once a week and they charge another $50-120 for the 2nd-5th withdrawal in the month. Its not deductable on your taxes either for any fee. I emailed them once and they said they prefer that i do more trades. I used FCXm and they closed my account after about 2 warnings. So I dont recommend them.

Hi Pablo,

Just wondering how you did with your system today. The 3 pairs that I followed (the EU, EY, and UY) seemed to have been whipsawed around a lot during the Euro-New York overlap session. If you (or any others here who followed Pablo’s system) were profitable today, would you mind posting your trades?

Thanks!
Dahlia

U/c long 0556 6.5 pips
Eu long 1025 7 pips
G/u 1521 9 pips

Those were my only trades I missed alot I thought the market was dead and nothing to do at the office so I went home and took a nap

Nice document for scalping start. I just checked it. If you have fractional pip pricing its better.

Hi Pablo,

I’ve posted this question on the “newbie” forum, but wanted to post it here too since I wanted to ask scalpers specifically…

Ive done some back testing of several scalping strategies (5 minute timeframes), and most seem to perform their worst in December. I suppose the reasoning seems obvious, what with the holidays and all. But, it seems that the bad performance isnt just contained in the specific holiday week(s), but rather from the very beginning of the month too. I suppose that’s not surprising as well, since it’s reasonable that some people might take the entire month off.

Ive only tested for 2 years, so I wanted to ask long time scalpers to see if they experience this: Do you notice any change in performance (for the worse) of your strategy during the month of December? Or is it just a coincidence that my testing shows bad performance in this month?

Thanks!

Dahlia

I only have 72 less pips in December than January. And 39 less compared to Nov. I dont trade the last two weeks or new years and the following few days.

Pablo,

Thanks for sending me your trades for (what I assume to be) 12/8/08. I think it helps tremendously to see the trades you chose to take and the ones you didn’t. I hope you don’t mind if I follow up with some questions. I thought I’d post it here, since I know you have several followers of your system.

First, these are the trades you listed for Monday:

5:05 long on the Eur/usd
517 long eur/gbp
545 long eur/gbp
636 short usd/chf I felt it was going down didnt go off setup
819 long e/usd
1056 short usd chf (loss)
1241 short e/ usd

Since you took 3 trades on the EurUsd, and since the EU is of interest to most people, I’ll ask you about those trades.

Please see attached for my charts of your trades. You said that you used Oanda too, so I’ll assume that our charts match. The first is the EurUsd 15 minute chart plus my interpretation of the trends. Please let me know if you have a different interpretation. The second chart is the EurUsd 5 minute chart, with my questions about the trades you took.

Would you mind taking a look and let me know your thoughts?

Thanks

Dahlia

505 trade looks like to me was after I drew 2 trend lines on the 15m when I started trading.

the 630 chart I dont know why I didnt take that. I dont think I was looking at eur/Usd. I think I was on swiss or the zar.

that 1230 trade was because on the 15 min my trend line was broken. and the 5 min charts crossed.

Thanks Pablo. Now I know how you interpret the trends. At first, I thought the MA in the 15m chart plays a role, but it seems that you depend more on trendlines. Please feel free to post more trades.

By the way, are you still using 10p for SL and TP. The moves seem bigger these days…

Thanks again.

I use about what increments are on the side minus 1. I draw a trend line across.

I am new to all this, but bought fapturbo and is running on a demo account from metatrader.I live in Portugal,so my gmt time is London gmt time. How do I set the gmt time for metatrader, the fapturbo videos don,t make sense.
