Yes, I�m a newbie. Right now I�m trading with a demo account, I just want to know how much money you need to open a real account.

Step 1: Go to the website of the broker your current demo account is with, and see what they require. This could have been accomplished in much less effort than making these two posts and checking them.
Theoretically you can open an account with $1 on a couple of places.
Most places will have limits such as $100, $500, or $1,000 for mini/micro accounts.
You certainly don’t need to start with anything over $10,000 if you don’t want, but you should always have enough to account for wide swings and drawdowns in your account though.
Even if you have $50,000 to blow I still wouldn’t open a standard sized account.
I suggest $2000.00 for your first account. Only trade 1 MINI lot at a time.
Be prepared to lose up to half your account. (!)
But … if you persevere, study all that is here on Babypips… learn to follow the trading rules you set for yourself … and do NOT give up or get discouraged by setbacks (and you may have to top up your account by $1k once … or even twice!) … in the end you can … and probably will … succeed

to open a live account it varies from one broker to another, for example i trade with hotforex and the minimum is like 5 dollars, in other brokers I think like oanda you can trade live as low as 1$, and others offer a higher minimum deposit, but before you go live pls take a minute and listen to this,
do not make haste and go live, first safest step is to go through pipsology and stick with demo for a couple of months (yes months) that way you will get a better understanding on how crazy the market can be and how to avoid the never ending BLOWING OF AN ACCOUNT!
if you are asking about how much is it that you need to trade successfully despite the minimum, I will tell you this, if you are going to trade then only trade the money that you do not need! don’t make forex trading a gamble. a lot of people have made this mistake.

to start a micro account you will need only 5$ (with hotforex) but you know 5$ wont bring a lot )
This is a common question for many newbies. My suggestion is to start small when you have no confidence. traders need time and experience to grow up.
