What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Guys,
Have you purchased a forex trading courses or would you pay for education?
What are your thoughts on this?
When I first started looking at Forex I thought I would. Then I discovered places like Babypips, LTTTM, and the more complex ideas and systems at http://forex-strategies-revealed.com/ (yes it looks like a dodgy site, but if they are flogging something I must have missed it!)
Then there is a long list of scams and just plain low grade offerings reviewed at https://www.tradingschools.org/
It would appear that there is just so much on offer for free - even once you decide what type of trader you want to be, that it would be counterproductive, and even risky to pay for it.
Having said that I am sure that there are some people that just function better in a group and being accountable to other(s) would keep them on the straight and narrow. Often - like a company consultant it just needs another pair of -not involved, eyes.
No need, just learn here for free.
Never thought of spending money in any forex trading courses. You can learn it for free. There’s a bunch of free resources online.
I would pay eventually. I want to give my own attempt at reading the School here and then trying out what I’ve learned.
I think a paid course could offer more structure and immediate feedback, but like anything, paying doesn’t guarantee anything, right? Some people need that structure and deadlines, and like what @Wightpips said, about accountability.
But why pay somebody for that. Pay yourself. Put out a jar and put money in there every time you don’t read or trade or practice. Problem solved at least on saving money.
To my mind, it is useless. For most of those silling online courses the main business is not trading, but selling online courses. The main related question arising is why do they sell courses insted of trading, if they are so experienced and profitable. Actulally, average full time trader have no time for education unless he owns prop-trading company.
If you want to make an investment in your trading career it would be better to:
A lot of information about trading is available through the Internet for free, so there is no need to pay for another “Unique Extremely Profitable trading system only for $9,99”.
Hmmm. Personally, I think there are tons and tons of resources available online that paying for trading courses might not be the most “practical” option.
Actually, yeah. Why pay for it when you can get it for free, right?
Although, I’m willing to spend on maybe printed trading books cause I’m not the biggest fan of reading ebooks.
Hahaha. Have you ever paid for a trading course @ProfitPotential?
education is inevitable part of Forex trading and there is no way to stop learning in here in spite of passing a long time but its a complicated issue , because most of the educational sources as a scam.
Same opinion from me; I see, there have so many negative reviews on almost all kinds of paid courses; so I lost my trust.
These are interesting replies guys.
I personally did not directly pay for education through the way of a course. However, I did pay for it by way of time to test different principles and techniques that are presented as free and the inevitable of losing money to the market from this trial and error. These are big costs.
I would say it cost me thousands and a lot of time to learn how to trade.
The reason, to my mind why someone would sell a course is possibly because they can package something that works which can help other achieve their goals. There are also people willing to pay for it so some traders will supply the demand.
These are the reasons why, in my opinion some create courses to sell. Those with negative intentions aside.
Making money is great and all but if you find yourself succeeding, alone, you may feel that you have an empty existence, without purpose or being of service to anyone…
…are you selling a trading course?
Does it look like it?
I have thought about it though because I believe I can provide something better.
Hello,
I paid for forex education before. Basically, you can learn a different trading style.
However, I think there are a lot of free resources on youtube and I believe that if you read babypips daily, you will become a better trader.
To be honest; I have such a bad experience on paid courses! I must say, I have learned a lot from School of Pipsology; so new traders don’t waste your money by taking so called paid courses.
That’s very common on paid trading courses; I see almost we all have similar experience on that.
I don’t think we need to need to pay for trading courses when we have sites like babypips which offers free trading course on forex and related topics. Also, we have excellent learning resource like investopedia where you can learn almost everything related to trading and investment.
I agree, most of these so called Forex teachers ara not even traders themselves,
Hi,
This is frank question. Personally, I consider it necessary and expedient to train yourself through the trading courses, webinars, etc However, it’s a matter of preference when it come to choosing the course and the tutor. There are good trading courses on udemy which I use.
All the best.
There are many successful traders writing about their methods on blogs that are free.
There is a ton of videos on YouTube that can be most helpful.
I use Google often when looking for ideas.
There are a number of pretty savvy authors on this site and they outline excellent ideas on a daily basis…
I see no need to pay for a course when there is so much for free.
All we need is one entry and exit to earn a nice living, surely that one entry that suits us can be found within this site.
Hello everyone!
Hey, while we’re on this topic, I’ve had this question eating at me for some time so here we go:
It seems Forex teachers driving exotic cars and flauting explosive revenue potential is kind of “a thing” in the field. I know my interest in Forex was in part kindled by one, but I never got around to actually paying for classes or seminars. So far Babypips is more than enough!
In terms of these courses, a few thousand dollars is the ask, but what’s the give? Since the stereotype appears widespread, I’d like to know your thoughts and experiences before I commit to anything.
