Parabolic Indicator

Can someone share their personal experiences or success stories using the parabolic indicator?

It is one of those indicators that always gives an opinion and it is prone to being caught in whiplash. It works well in a trend if you want to use it for stop loss placement but if you try using it when the market is consolidating you will get lots of bad signals.

this is exactly right

and is, of course, what it was invented for

the idea of using it as a trade-entry method is … well, let’s not even go there :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

PSAR is one of my best indicators of price movement if the set up is 0.09 - 0.50, which lags minimum. As for using it as an entry point, a change in above or below the candles is a warning that the order flow is changing sides (Bulls V Bears) and a continuation - together with MACD 3-10-16 histogram blocks confirmation is an entry signal.

I include this set up for every trade, along with RSI 10 (one 50 line) and ATR 10.
