So several/many questions regarding an EA.

1st question - I have an IBFX account and loaded their Partial EA - and tried it a bit

However - not liking it like it is but cannot modify it as downloaded from IBFX - - However, I do have a copy of it from another source - so I can modify that one.

Is this “legal” or will I get in trouble? (Thinking eventually, if I get it the way I want, I’d distribute to others who may like it)

Secondly:
see the attached Picture - why did the ea close where it did, and why not at the first opportunity? I really don’t like this - opened up me to a loss that should not have been there.

You absolutely cannot change somebody else’s code for your purposes without their consent. Some software comes with conditions for such consent, but most don’t, so consent is considered to be denied.

Thank you for reminding me why I never post anything of value on the Internet anymore. I would advise others to do the same.

All I’m saying is as far as MT4 code goes everybody uses and modifies it for their own use. Maybe crediting the original author, maybe not.
If you don’t want anybody using your code there are several ways to keep that from happening or at least making it less so.

So don’t take it personally, just telling it like it is.

I don’t make a distinction between MQ4 code and C# or VBA. Neither do I treat another person’s research or writings with disdain as you seem to. They all require someone’s effort and the creator should be shown the respect due to them. If they want to share the code/writing they will make their intentions clear.
