Password Expiry

Hello,

For a while now I’ve been getting notified that:

Your password has expired.

Please change your password using this page.

Okay, so I finally went about doing this, however I was also required to enter in a new email address, which I did not want to do because I like getting news from BP at a certain email address. I have tried changing this but all it says is that email address is already registered…so I’m confused.

Aside from that, is there a way I can opt out of my password expiring? Is that even an option? If not, how soon do passwords expire? I don’t have the best memory and can’t keep track of new passwords all the time. >.<

Thanks for the question. It appears you are still logged in, so I will assume you can get to UserCP from the Forums navigation. So please go to UserCP and click on Email and Password under My Settings > My Account. Follow the instructions by entering your current password and a new password twice, confirming your email address and then clicking the “Save Changes” button. If all goes well, log out and then back in. If the prompt to change your password goes away, wonderful!

If not, please let us know and we’ll work with you to your account in order.
