Hi,
Just logged in today and have found that every time I go to a new post or page a pop up advert appears in the middle of the screen.
It has taken all of 2 minutes for this to seriously annoy me. If this is a new addition, can it be removed? I’m sick of having to close it every time I navigate between pages.

You’re not alone.

Evidently, this started just as 2014 turned into 2015. The problem is limited to the Babypips site — other websites are functioning normally. But, I didn’t know that until I double-checked my browser settings (no problem there), and did a complete purge of my system (CCleaner wiped everything, and Malwarebytes and AVG both turned up nothing malicious).

Now I have a squeaky-clean system, but I’m still being bombarded by Babypips pop-up ads.

I am a bit baffled by the fact that my browser (Google Chrome) is set to block pop-ups, but these Babypips pop-ups are getting through. I know that I can buy and download software which claims to block every conceivable sort of pop-up, but I haven’t gotten to the point of doing that yet.

If Babypips doesn’t fix this, I’ll have to take a serious look at that software.

By the way, Babypips, in case you didn’t know this: The obnoxious pop-ups we’re experiencing are Forex.com ads.

Since this has started, 2 things have changed:

  1. I am spending a lot less time on babypips - I just look down the list of new posts rather than read each one
  2. I have joined another Forex forum. I’ve experienced this before on other forums (football springs to mind) where pop ups drove me away from what had been a good forum. I hope that doesn’t happen here

Ditto, & I doubt we’ll be the only ones.
If they carry on with this crap for much longer they’ll simply end up shooting themselves in the foot.

Not too many folks will put up with this nonsense & as you’ve alluded to, they don’t need to with all the other decent competition out there.

Could not agree more.

It changed since yesterday, which tells me this is probably a site move, not some random popup situation.

Most irritating bunch of sh!t ever. EVERY TIME I SWITCH A PAGE?

REALLY!!!

Come on BP, you can do better than that even if it is just a broker ad.

As for the ad issue, it’s been taken care of. It was a technical issue on our end that we’re still investigating. It shouldn’t have happened. We want to let you know that we don’t ever plan to have ads like this showing on every single page load. That’s not what was supposed to happen. The ad should have only showed 1 or 2 times a session and that’s it. And that appears to be the case now.

We use the Internet and this website just like you. We understand that such an action would send away our users very quickly, never to return. We take your user experience very seriously, and that experience is at the heart of any major changes we make to the website, including when and when not to introduce new advertisements. This case was simply a technical issue with our server.

If you’re seeing differently, and the issue remains, please let us know so we can figure out what’s going on on your end. Again, we do apologize for the glitch. Now back to discussing Forex!
