Position Size Issue on MT4 Demo

Hi everyone  Pretty new to forex and currently struggling to understand why I am having issues creating an order on MT4 with my position size. I am playing with $1000 in a demo account and looking to risk 10% of it but when I put the standard lot size from the calculator into a metatrader order I am told I don’t have enough money.

If anybody could please help me and show me where I am going wrong with this, it would be much appreciated, thank-you

1 standar lot need 100.000 k USD…

Quite confused by what you mean sorry, could you please elaborate a bit more? Thankyou

What is your leverage?
It’s telling you that because there isn’t enough margin to open the position.

right that makes more sense! Its on a 10:1 leverage, so before I put it into the calculator I should minus the account balance by the margin?

Mate; it’s very high risk reward ratio! Don’t go for more than 2% in your individual trade position.

Leverage gives you volume control. With a 10:1 leverage and $1000 balance, your buying power is maximum at $10,000 and that is 1 mini lot. And that will still not be possible because then all of your account balance will be used as margin. Do you even know how to calculate margin?

So now that you know your maximum buying power. You can now open position size less than that. 1 - 9 micro lots.

I’m just trying so hard to answer your question strictly without giving out any risk management advice. When you need those, feel free to ask.
