Hey guys,
I am going to start a forex account and I was wondering if it is possible for my brother who lives in another country to fund it via his debit card.
Waiting in anticipation for your reply!
Probably easier for you in the long run to get your brother to wire you the cash then fund it yourself. If you open the account under your brother’s name probably no issue(apart from him having to declare tax on it :P). The broker might not be that keen on funding from a credit/debit card that is not the in the same name as the account. Also a lot of brokers make your primary withdrawl option the method you used to fund the account ie if you fund it with your brothers card then more than likely when you make a withdrawl it will be credited to your brothers card’s account.
hey dan82au,
Thanks for the reply
The reason I want my brother to deposit into my account is because I will be getting my debit card a little ,So later on I will change the bank details to my own .I was wondering for the time being if the account is in my name will it be ok to fund my account if the card is in my brother name
It would surprise me as that would allow money laundering. A deposits and B changes the bank details and withdraw the money. But why asking and not just try it.
Thanks for the reply Toekan ,
but Woah !
How does that support money laundering ?
Well, perhaps not money laundery, but international money transfer outside the normal channels.
Mother Theresa opens an account int the US. Al Capone deposits money on it from the US. Account details are changed and Berlusconi wihdraws money from that account in Italy.
Just an example of course.
Or I open an European account and deposit money. I sell the account details to somebody in the US, who can use the account, trade with it and withdraw money from it after banking details are changed.
I think that you can imagine the opportunities, but I am sure that somebody is trying to prevent these things.
Ok ,I get the point . Strange I never thought about it in such sense.
Nevertheless thanks for the reply toekan
No, every sound brokerage does not allow that for various reasons, money laundering being one of them. You can only fund your account with a credit card in your name. In other words, the account you fund from and fund into need to be the same. A broker who would allow you otherwise is one I would recommend you stay away from.
I actually had it once that a withdraw was send to another account because I made a typo… lol I would have thought that they would check the account number before transferring… They didn’t… They were going to settle it, but it could take a while… So meanwhile I figured out what number I typed and send a $0.01 transfer with a message to that account… She replied the same way, and we communicated about it… She was so kind to transfer it to me and the matter was done…
You can if you are happy for the withdrawals to go to your brothers account.
Reliable forex brokers do not allows that.
I think it is not possible .All brokers have condition to transfer funds in name of account holder. If your trading account is in name of your brother he can do it . Or you can use E-currency to tranfer funds if broker allows you.Different brokers had their own terms and conditions for transation of funds. All require verification of identity and proof of adress So that only specific person can deal with funds.
