Hi, newbie here :slight_smile:

I know i got a lot to cover to learn may way into the FX. But while i’m on it i’d also like to get some extra tips about this specific question.

I’m a computer science student and i’d like to know what tools are there to work the FX data.
All i have used till now was MT4, is there a way to build plugins for it? Or is there any other similar software that as some API that we can use to build our own app/plugin.

What i want is something like the so called “robots” but to make it my way, like my own project :slight_smile:

I want to be able to fed my program with FX stream data, to detect patterns as i program it to and to notify me.

I don’t want to reinvent the wheel so if there’s already to much information over this be kind and redirect me.

I hope a few moths from now i can post my success in the forum and maybe share some kickass app :smiley:

Well, I used ForexConnect from FXCM. It is a C++ API that works asynchronous. Oanda has also a C++ API. I used this because I didn’t have 5000 or 10000 for an account with FIX API. Or you can write your algorithm in MQL for MT4.
