Qualifying for a 5%ers Funded Account

Well this is actually my best week since I started this journal and my best week since early March, doesn’t feel like it but that’s the cold hard reality.

Will put up the same for the Noob account and the late entries, probably tomorrow as those dashboards seem to update the following day.

Noob account did even better, similar win rate but this is at 1/1.5

Note the opening balance was just below $5k as I’d tried a few things out with it before.

And the late entries, all fairly similar although these are a bit lower WR, again at 1/1.5 RRR

Good to read - well done! :+1: :grinning:

Got this email just after I started trading this morning.

Now, I thought, did I use the wrong risk level (ie 5% instead of 0.5%) or forget to set a SL and something has absolutely tanked?

No, turns out this account is a competition account that I never used and the contest ended, got another email from them confirming that a minute or two later, guys your comms are terrible!

Anyway, decent day today, 2 wins, a loss and a break even, here’s the trades;

USDJPY first, now I did think quite a bit about taking this as it is against the trend, but I thought it would probably go down to test the 60 SMA and there were enough pips to make a winning trade, but in the end it didn’t go that far and then went with the trend.

With the trend on AUDUSD and a nice easy win here.

Similar for USDCAD, this one was at 1/1.5

Now EURGBP was the break even trade (small profit in fact) this one almost hit TP but then retraced, I set my SL to the SMA as I felt if that was breached this would reverse and it then kept testing the SMA so I did close it early.

Anyway, 3 profitable days in a row now.

Oh, didn’t trade yesterday due to the BH, now I may trade these in future as it looks to have been a good day to trade. Until now BHs have always been 50/50 kinda days.

Sigh of relief all round? Pleased to hear that part, anyway!

The noob account had 4 wins from 7 and the late entries had 1 win from 1 trade.

Some analysis into win rates for going with and against the trend, not enough data yet to be all that significant;

This is for the “noob” system so far will do the others later but expect a similar result, “Mixed” is when the trend isn’t clear.

I didn’t like the look of the trends for most pairs at 8:00am so I almost didn’t trade but then the first 5 minutes price action was quite strong so I decided to trade after all.

So, right decision, 3 wins from 5 with just one loss and a break even that was in fact a small profit.

Noob account had 5 wins from 7 at 1/1.5 with 1 loss and 1 break even.

The late entries had 1 win and a break even.

Trades here;

USDCAD first, as you can see this retraced and hit SL, now the SL isn’t big enough but this is due to the move away from the range, I used an 8 pip SL which is around the usual amount but forgot to add a couple of pips for the move. Total noob!

EURUSD and I entered this quite late as I was concerned it was bouncing off the level I marked up, once it crossed this I took the trade and it won quite easily.

AUDUSD next and the price action was consistent as it had been so another win without too much trouble, SL was just big enough here.

GBPUSD was almost identical. These aren’t really breakouts I’m just trading the price action with the break of the range being the buying signal.

USDJPY was kind of the same but short, I closed this early for about half profit as I had to go out and wasn’t convinced it would hit TP, but it would have done, I am calling this one break even.

I can’t say I’m doing anything different really, just the markets are being nice at the moment!

Another 1% up today, if the current run of profitable days continues at this rate I could complete the first phase of the challenge by Friday (now up almost 5% from 8%), but I am not confident I can have 5 winning days in a row, but fingers crossed!
