Question for Jess & Pipstradamus

Please tell me your decision about Campione’s offensive avatar + profile pic, which are degrading to women.

I’ve been patient but the silence on this subject is deafening.

You said you were aware of the issue and were looking into it, long ago.

Was that true?

If it was, why has nothing happened?

Since then you’ve ignored me completely, whenever I’ve asked for your decision about this.

Why?

Please let me know, now: are those pictures going to stay here or not?

Why can’t you just remove porn that objectivizes women from the forum?

Why all this delay?

Are you trying to attract female members or to repel us?

It’s a simple enough question.

Please reply to it.

Thank you.

Tacita

i agree with you, as i said in a different thread

you sound angry now

it’s Friday pm, you can perhaps ask them by private message, i think the mods don’t read the posts unless someone flags it (sometimes maybe not even then)?

I’m angry NOW because some of us have been asking about this since much earlier in the week and for the most part we were just ignored, and now it’s Friday afternoon.

I tried repeatedly.

I got one reply telling me that they were aware there’s an issue and were looking into it and a message had been sent to Campione.

So naturally I asked what they propose to do if he hasn’t seen it - are they going to wait for ever?

That got a stony silence.

Since then, I sent another reminder, to ask again.

More silence.

I’m asking in public deliberately, as well, to try to shame them into doing something.

According to the recent long thread discussing the censorship here (in which this subject was also discussed), many members here feel they protect trolls and promoters and shills and censor ordinary members. And now they can add pornographers to the list of protected species here. Maybe that’s their intention, maybe it’s just the result of inattention or laziness, I don’t know. But it’s incredibly rude.

I meant my question very literally - are they trying to attract female members or to repel us?

Thanks for your comments. We do not deem these images, of a woman in a bathing suit and/or undergarments (the avatar is small and hard to determine), as porn or as violating our terms of service. I’ll add that the images were uploaded by a female member of the community.

We have to give everyone a chance to respond to requests for information. That doesn’t always happen immediately, or even in a couple of days. So we appreciate your patience, but twisting our public inaction as us taking no action at all is not fair. Plenty goes on behind the scenes that are not public. And as I already mentioned in a previous post, we do not protect trolls and promoters and shills and censor ordinary members or protect pornographers. If you believe any of that, we’re not what you need, and I recommend you to leave the site.
