Have been trading with etoro a while, but have recently changed broker to Oanda and started running with MT4.
Have a little question regarding when to place an order in MT4. When i traded with eToro you were pretty spoiled. When you put an order, it showed exactly how much $ you were “betting”. Same with when you put the SL and TP, it said how much they would get in $ if it reached its TP or how much you would lose if they were knocked out of their SL.
I can’t not seem to see in MT4 when placing an order. How much you want to bet, is selected in “volume”. It starts @, “1:00”, which thus is a standard lot (100,000), but I want to know what it is exactly in $ so you do not accidentally spend to much. One could of course invest a micro lot, 1000 (volume = 0.01), but I still want to know what it is in $.
Same thing with your tp and sl. It did so in eToro, but would like to have it in MT4 as well.
I know that there are formulas to figure this out. I know them (reasonably) good in my head, but also have them written down. But it must surely be possible to see it at once directly in MT4. That went well in eToro?
“yes but mt4 is for the big dogs, you should be able to count yourself!”, yes indeed, I can … but I do not want to spend a lot of time to figure out my effort, my potential profit or loss if I have to throw myself into a trade quickly. You know what I mean.
Another question … at the bottom of the box when you place an order, there is something called “deviation”. what exactly is it? It is set to “0” by default, and in the drop-down menu you can choose 1-8 (or enter your own numbers).
