Readiness to Begin Prop Firm Evaluation

I have been trading off and on since 2019, close to 5 years now. During that period, I have grown as a trader after trying out numerous things and finally landing on an edge in 2024. I created and backtested a simple strategy that I then livetested for four months now (Since September). I have sharpened my edge, i have a 1:2 RRR, I’ve made a total of over 1,500 pips in those four months with my edge and decided to begin my prop firm evaluation. However, I am so nervous right now. Even though I feel my psychology is good (I take one trade per day regardless of the outcome if a trade meets all my rules, I contiue trading with the same strategy regardless of any loss streak, and I never change my strategy unless for some new break even rules I added in October to minimize losses and has elevated the strategy). I am ready but still nervous. Any advice from any veterans that have gotten funded and received their payouts?

Put all your emotions aside and start working like a robot.

Don’t let anything affect your trading strategy. Don’t let losses one after another turn you off, my friend.
Stay true to your plan and continue on your path.
A lot of my friends have withdrawn money from Prop Companies.
You can do it too.

It would be good if you share your strategy, maybe we would like to see your back tests.
We can work on it

Nice try!

Don’t share your strategy (it matters: it may affect whether you can qualify and/or get paid, if others are also using it).

Be very careful which company you use - many are scams. Do lots of due diligence.

Don’t pay to take the evaluation until you’ve successfully done it at least a couple of times on demo, using the prop firm’s rules. (Maybe you already did this, in effect?).

Be aware that almost all online prop firms make almost all their income from the fees of repeatedly unsuccessful trialists. The well-known firm FTMO find that only 1 person in 500 ever gets as far as a payout. But that doesn’t mean you can’t qualify and get paid, if you’re one of the very tiny minority who has something that really works.

Good luck!
