Just wondering what realistic annual earnings are for an experienced individual forex trading, trading with his own money. What kind of percentage gain on initial capital can be expected within a year (taking into account drawing a salary if required of course).
The sky is the limit… instead of asking what could be possible… imagine it, forge a vision and a plan… then chase it. Trust me… it boggles the mind the opportunnities that this market presents the Trader with the patience and understanding.

That certainly makes sense although I don’t want to get carried away either. It seems based on what I’ve read that even with very modest monthly returns like 15%-30% a month its possible with compounding to turn just a $10000 account in a million in just 3 years. And that’s with drawing 50% salary out every month! But I can’t imagine most people around here are millionaires…or are they?
Yeah well… The thing is that 15-30% every month consistently is not as easy as it may sound :).
I’ve been trading on a demo account for several months and I’ve noticed that for my strategy 4% is the average compound amount I earn per week on my initial capital. The most I lost in a day of trading was 9% of my capital which was hard to stomach. That loss set me back about a week and a half of trading.
Hard to say really… who knows what folks have reading these forums?
Honestly, if you trade for a year, losing is more realistic.
In trading both profit and loss to be realistic. Annual earnings can not be fixed it depends on knowledge, strategies, platform, dealing currencies etc. Sometime annual earnings may be converted in annual loss as well.
