Replacing faulty MT4 instrument data

I’ve noticed a weird set of data errors in EURCAD on a couple of my broker’s feeds. If I zoom out to W1 I’ll that the years aren’t evenly spaced. From 2007-2009 the years have thrice as many weekly bars as they should because weekends are being counted as entire weeks, or something.

I’m wondering how I can replace this faulty data with good data from another MT4 instance? Is it simply a matter of replacing some files?

Do a search for ‘Tickstory’ a program that downloads data from Dukacopy which is fairly reliable.

They have a free version which will do what you need.

Thanks Blaiserboy I’ll check that out.

In case it helps someone else out:
I also found that as long as the instrument has the exact same name on both brokers you can take a .hst file from the history folder in MT4 and replace another one in another instance. At least it worked for me.

I am pretty sure you will find TickStory to do the job… you can get data back to 2007 in all time frames…

Most of the time it is accurate data and you can format it to your broker.

I do a lot of testing in MT5 as it has more reliable data and then do the trading on MT4

Good luck with this!
