Run a script

I have a trading system I am interested in testing and the originator says to “” run a script""

He includes the following files:

  • R4.ex4
  • [4a].ex4
    ** [4a].ex4
    *.mq4

Can someone please tell me how to run a script with these files and where to put them?

I’m guessing that the *.mq4 files is an indicator??

If you are using mt4 put scripts in C:\program files\metatrader folder\experts\scripts
mq4 is a source code file could be a script, an indicator or an EA
ex4 is a compiled file, can also be for any of the above
