Funny how that works, but it’s accurate.
If I had a business that depended on customers for my income, all I would focus on is earning money. I wouldn’t be concerned with a person’s appearance at all.
Naturally, this does not include businesses that have specific attire requirements.
Right right. You won’t stand out there, so it’s safe to be flashy. Driving a luxury car is okay in that town because everyone has one.
It’s funny. I was listening to Coach Greg Adams and he was talking about men in the caribbean.
He talked about you’ll go on vacation to Jamaica, for example, and you’ll see men just hanging out and playing dominoes. And they wonder why they’re in poverty.
Of course, this doesn’t just apply to the caribbean. You can see this anywhere, but I think you’ll see it particularly when the weather is warm and comfortable. Dudes just hanging out, playing a game for hours, and doing nothing.
I guess it’s true: comfort is where dreams go to die. When we’re comfortable, there’s no ambition to do anything.
I like that he said you gotta reward yourself sometimes—not just work, work, work.
I think this is healthy.
@SmallPaul What % of your income do you think you should be able to spend frivolously?
I think 5-10% is acceptable. Of course, this is assuming all bills are paid.
Do you have an approach to systematically determine this?
For example, let’s say your profit this month was $100k, and half of it goes towards whatever bills.
Now you have $50k remaining. Now what?
Can you get the new $1,000 TV that you want? Or do you need to save more, and just get some new socks for $10 instead?
We know income is different from savings. But let’s say I have a 100k month and all bills are paid, including household food. If I’m not doing anything special, I’m pretty much not spending anything, but if I were to take your 10% rule, that’s 10k. I have no clue what i will spend it on if i have nothing special in mind.
Haha my fault.
Sorry. I didn’t mean what you would do with the money. I meant what % would you allow yourself to spend frivolously (if you wanted to). From a budgeting perspective.
Would 10% be your rule? Or is it not about % for you and it just depends on the numbers after expenses are paid?
After I fulfill my savings obligation and all bills are paid, and looking at my checking account, anything goes based on that account size. I could spend 100% of that account, but that’s not going to happen. That’s my limit, whether it’s $1 or $1,000,000.% Doesn’t matter.
That’s a cool approach. Once responsibilities are handled, it’s party time!
Keep them coming
I haven’t experienced it in a long time, but the air I like is the first breath of fresh air getting off a plane in a new place.
After he inhales some of that air, he couldn’t believe that idea was valid. Dude found a way to sell air!
What about air filters?
