I read a comment that said “don’t be so hard on yourself.”
I say “Why not?”
Maybe being soft on yourself is how you got into your current situation.
Don’t be scared to be hard on yourself, be honest about your shortcomings, or raise expectations for yourself.
Beware of people trying to protect your feelings when you know you’re not living up to your potential.
That’s a good one.
The reasons why they say don’t be hard on yourself.
Self-criticism may not be the powerful motivator you think it is.
To me, it means some people haven’t learned to use it as fuel.
They give in to the criticism and feel bad, instead of using it as motivation to do better next time.
They have the self-criticism but not the persistence; and possibly lack direction.
Voice A:
‘You really messed up. If you’re ever going to make anything of your life, you need to try much harder.’
Voice B:
‘I’m so sorry you didn’t get the outcome you wanted. It must be tough for you right now. Let’s think about what would support you best.’
Imagine Mickey talking to Rocky with each of these voices. Which one is gonna motivate Rocky more? Which one puts more pressure on you to do what you must in order to succeed?

The reason why voice A has to be so overwhelming is because the voice that makes you wanna give up is strong as well.
When it’s 4:30am, it’s cold outside, and it’s time to go run, you’ll see if voice A or B helps you get out of bed, again and again and again and again.
You’ve failed at learning Spanish for 5 years. Now, you’re tired of losing and you hate that feeling. You promised yourself you’d study harder. Now, your friends are inviting you to go out.
Go out or stay in and study? You need a stronger voice to keep you studying. Otherwise, you’ll get the same results as the last 5 years.
Extreme problems require extreme remedies.
However, it’s not a one-size-fits-all. It’s not for everyone.

“Lansky,” a 2021 film, sheds light on a quote that speaks volumes about the essence of life and the values that truly matter. The quote reflects that in life, there are things that we possess that hold little worth compared to those that hold immense value. Money is temporary and can be lost, but our health and character are the defining elements that shape us as individuals. When we lose our wealth, we experience a setback, but when we lose our health or character, we lose everything that truly matters.
There’s no difference between responsibility and adventure. The heavier the responsibility, the more profound the adventure.

life, in its purest form, will soon discover you.
When you beat the system, you are called a criminal. But when the system beats and sucks the blood out of the retailers, they are called successful professionals.
There are some messages in videos that have really stuck in my head the last few years. But, I can admit that a lot of the motivational videos are corny.
But, I’d rather listen to corny (even fake) videos that have positive messages and keep encouraging me, than watching pointless videos that just distract me and waste my day.
There is nothing wrong with watching a video that is considered corny to others or even to you and getting motivated.
