When you think about murders, robbery, assaults, kidnappings, and rape, that statement holds true
I recently watched a series called Reservation Dogs. Itās a show about a group of teen friends, and one of their friends committed suicide. After the fact, the Uncle said, āI didnāt know how to help him.ā
We all have different struggles, and sometimes we lose hope along the way. I thought it was worth sharing this info.
Itās not always easy to tell if a friend is struggling emotionally, as many of these changes may happen gradually and may not seem so severe at first. Itās also important to remember that some warning signs donāt look the way weād expect them to. Anger can be a sign of depression. Isolation can be a sign of anxiety. Withdrawing from activities or friends can be a sign of an eating disorder. Itās important to remember that you are not trying to diagnose your friendāinstead, itās helpful to know that they may be experiencing something and could use extra support. This is especially true if the signs you notice do not resolve after a day or so or when a situational stressor ends.
What should you do when you notice a concerning change in your friendās mood, behaviors, or what they say?
- First and most importantly, if you believe there is an immediate threat and that your friend might harm themselves or someone else, call 9-1-1.
- If you are worried about a friend and not sure how to help, you can text START to 741741 or call 988 to chat with a trained counselor anytime.

This stuff is much more dangerous than it looks. And these guys really do push their limits.

Well, Death finally pulled his card. We all meet our demise. But how many of us can honestly say we were truly facing our fears when that time comes?
There are folks who die getting out of the bathtub.
CT Fletcher went to the doctor before going to a bench pressing competitionāhis last hoorah before retiring from competition. His doctor warned him that his aorta could burst mid-lift. āDo you really want to risk your life?ā
Without hesitation, CT said, āOf course I want to risk my life. It would be a glorious death.ā
When Vinny Paz was in the hospital with a near broken neck, he was already asking his doctor, āWhen can I box again?ā The doctor said, āYouāre lucky just to be alive. Forget about boxing. Your career is over.ā
Vinny Paz said, āIām sorry you donāt know what kind of man I am.ā
These are all people who have such a high level of determination that death is the only thing that can stop them.
Iām not saying itās healthy. Iām just saying they have relentless levels of determination.
I used to fear heights, but that doesnāt mean I must engage in any of these activities to overcome or face my fears.

Right. And that makes sense. And that works for you.
For them, itās not enough. And, well, for that Remi guy, it wasnāt enough.
Sometimes, itās not just a fear to overcome. Perhaps in your case, it was just a fear to overcome, and then itās over.
But for some people, thereās something deeper; thereās something behind the determination that you see. Thereās some kind of insecurity or some strong feeling that just doesnāt go away. Itās there every day, no matter what you do.
But when you do something extreme, the adrenaline drowns out that strong feeling. I think thatās what it was for Remi. He was at peace when he was 50 stories in the air. When he came down, he felt ok. But it wouldnāt be long before he needed to get back up there.
Itās like an emotional management tool. A coping mechanism, if you will.

However, cleaning shouldnāt be a means of procrastination. If youāre at peace with your mess, and you have other goals that youāre avoiding, I say donāt bother cleaning.
As long as youāre not bothering other people. If you live alone, and your place is a mess, but your goals need tending to, I say focus on your goals.
Sometimes, people treat āclear space, clear mindā as a golden rule. But itās not for everyone.
What if your goals are of such high priority, that you donāt care about cleaning and you just wanna stay focused on your work?
Trust yourself, and do whatās best for you.
However, after reaching your goals, you should probably clean up. Have some self-respect and care for your surroundings.

Fake or not, itās good motivation. A lot of us would love to able to give to others. First you give to yourself, but once you have an abundance you can afford to give to others.
This video, and videos like it, remind us to give instead of hoarding resources to ourselves.
Sometimes, getting on the right path is simply a matter of leadership and guiding principles.
