No matter how much I explain it to my kids, they’re probably too young to understand:

Thomas Jefferson Warned The Nation To Beware The Power Of The Banks

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies,” Jefferson wrote.

" If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around(these banks) will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

“The issuing power of currency shall be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

Malta!

Wouldn’t it be nice to frequent a place, make friends, and invite them to come visit you?

“You should come visit some time. How about in March?..Huh?..No, no. Don’t worry about it. I’ll send you a ticket. It’s my pleasure.”

I was watching Andor, and someone said, “An open invitation is no invitation at all.” There’s some truth to that, isn’t there?

“You’re welcome anytime.” “We should hang out some time.” How vague! You said that, but what if that person feels too self conscious to invite himself? We should be more direct; more inviting. Be specific and offer a day.

Your private indoor lap pool!

Installing an indoor pool costs an average of $95.000. However, your total can fall anywhere between $40.000 and $200.000 on average, depending on the type and size of the pool.

5 Ways to Save on the Cost to Build an Indoor Pool

Nah…If I’m going this far to have a 25 or even 50 meter pool at my house, I’m not looking for shortcuts. I’m doing it properly and the way I want it, the first time. This isn’t a construction you want to revisit or regret.

Don’t forget maintenance:
Pools cost between $150 to $260 per month for maintenance during swim season. This price includes vacuuming, skimming, and chemicals to maintain the pool’s chemistry. If you choose to complete the maintenance yourself, you’ll spend about $50 per month on pool chemicals and supplies.

But when you’re doing well, these costs are easily manageable.

Born in 1992 with a congenital absence of both legs, the 31-year-old skateboarder had a rough start in life.

When she was only an infant, Kanya was found at the side of the road by a woman who was passing by a Buddhist temple school in Pak Chong, Thailand.

After her cries attracted the woman, Kanya was promptly taken to the hospital.

There, a nurse (affectionately dubbed ‘Nurse Mae Chan’) and the hospital personnel took care of her until 1998.

Paralympic athlete and surfer, Hollywood actress and runway model, 31-year-old Kanya is a force to be reckoned with, and can now add a world record title and being a star of Guinness World Records 2025 to her long list of triumphs.

She has successfully completed the longest Handstand on a Skateboard (LA3) – an impressive feat that saw her supporting herself on her hands atop her board for a whopping 19.65 sec.

Next day, in Rio de Janeiro:

“Time to go to work, and check on my trades…”

“Hmm…Still trending…I’ll short this one…still trending…this one’s retracing, but I’ll hold…still trending…ok, done.”

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I’ve passed judgement on DMX and people like him. It’s easy to judge when you look at the symptoms and not the cause.

DMX’s troubles as an adult likely stemmed from his abusive childhood. Born to a teenage mother, the rapper was reportedly beaten by both his mother and her many boyfriends as early as age 6, according to the New York Post. At age 10, DMX was kicked out of school for fighting, and a short time later, he was ordered to spend 18 months in a home for troubled youth. By age 14, DMX was living on the streets, where he was first introduced to drugs.

In a 2020 interview with podcaster Talib Kweli, DMX said that his issues with addiction started at age 14 when his 30-year-old rap mentor offered him a joint that DMX didn’t know was laced with crack cocaine. Following that experience, DMX said he began using drugs as a coping strategy to deal with his pain, and sadly, the habit followed him until his final days.

The things that happened to him weren’t his fault, but they became his burden, and he didn’t know how to control it.

Just think, with his talent, what would’ve happened if he was born into a family of PhDs? A family that owned grocery stores? Same thing for Freeway Ricky Ross, Method Man, Snoop Dog, etc. I don’t know these guys’ stories. But maybe I shouldn’t be so quick to judge.

However, I have no respect for anyone who hurts people for no reason. No matter what your trauma was, it’s no excuse for hurting others. But, I can understand and empathize with how they feel. If someone attacks you, you have every right to defend yourself.

But, maybe, in some cases, some mercy could be good. I’m not sure if I would be merciful, honestly. I should think about it, though.

We all have challenges in life, and we can’t allow our past to determine our future.
