Murder on the Markets! We should write a book. Ahh well, the recovery is just around the corner (fingers crossed). I think once the Euro settles down and finds it’s range we’ll be ok, but in the meantime it is definitely not fun to watch.

Definitely a terrible week for the ea. a whole months worth of gains gone in a week. Hopefully it’s back to normal soon. G20 meetings over the weekend so my ea is off with no positions open.

Hey Robert, does the EA use the Volume indicator at all (say on the 15min timeframe) to give any hint of where the market may be headed? Has this been something you’ve used or considered in the past?

Nevermind.

yea this week has stung a little. I find my profits drifting away at the moment. Normal stuff though. The markets move back and forth, like swaying and sometimes they sway a little “hard” against us. I have no doubt that next week will be better.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hope it picks up next week and the months to follow

Hello S1l1kon,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have never used volume indicators. I believe that the nut and bolts is in the volatility: number of pips over time. But I am sure your suggestion will stay in the back of my mind. Maybe we can use it… Thanks as always for the valuable trading thoughts!

I feel jinx, everytime I enter live into a new method or EA. I will start losing and at some point, losing really badly.

I hope this is not the case. It is kinda comforting to see that many are in the same boat, so at least I know I am not the only one…

Regards,
Gyfu

The way I hear it, the volume feed can be very broker dependent, but it does give you an indication of when a trend or a retracement is running out of steam.

One of the reasons that I use it (mostly for analysis as I can’t trade when the busy sessions are on) is because it’s one of the only indicators that can only go in one direction during a candle; volume doesn’t get removed it only accumulates depending on how many orders are being placed during the candle. No waffling back and forth… Just my 2 cents.

Now for some good news, started the day off banking 111 pips

hi Robert, is it possible for a future release that i can manually set the max leverage on the EA properties?

im seeing my hotforex account getting bigger DD than the others , and my guessing is that is a leverage problem.

anyway just my 2 cents

thanks

USD/JPY has been an account killer lately, and I see it’s now shorting it again. Started the day off good with a 111 pip win, but that’s since been eaten up and right now all trades are negative. Break-even doesn’t look so far away anymore :frowning:

Agree that the USD/JPY has had a tough time recently but when I look at the last 4 months of trades it is the EUR/GBP that has resulted in my account being close to B/E

Would you look at that, the last USD/JPY nearly redeemed itself! This is why I don’t trade manually, I don’t have the nerves unlike my computer.

I haven’t broken down which pairs have been the biggest earners/losers for me, but it’s something I’ll look into…

I don’t think I’ve seen this many open trades at once in my whole week running this EA. I like that somehow.

My first post, great thread here, by the way.

Probably best to just leave the ea to trade on its own. You will get draw down as times, but you can do your head in by watching it trade.

Long term the results will be positive so what more do you want??

Hi Robert,

Been reading this thread and decided to take the plunge over the weekend. I can’t comment about the quality of the EAs yet but I just wanted to say your manuals are great, clear and jargon-free and your customer service (John, Murray etc) is brilliant. So efficient and all my requests were dealt with in minutes, literally.

Long may it continue!

Kind Regards,

Hywel

Agreed. I just stopped watching. The most I’ll do now is look in from time to time and see how the balance is doing.

Well that’s the hope, right? But for the guys who have insecurities, I have to say all things are relative.

Right now my live account is -9% after entering mid-Feb…not fun. If I was just stepping in, I’d say this EA was pretty lousy! BUT, my demo account was started on 1/28 and after it’s first two weeks, it was +33%, and still stands at +7.x% on the month, and that’s a number I can be happy with. The demos performance in the first weeks shows enough promise to pull the live account out of DD, so I’m just letting it roll.

I think it’s a right-of-passage to drop in the negative territory right after entering the market with these EA’s :22: Hind sight’s 20/20. All the demo’s and the live account I entered with these EA’s directly went negative. But they pull out eventually. Time will tell everything in another 8 or 9 months.

Tim

Heh, it seems like every EA I install feels the need to kick me with a DD right off the start;)

Comments above made me wonder how the individual pairs are working out, my % totals are probably slightly off as I missed one rise but then had my EAs @50% for the resulting drawdown, but individually…each specific pair actually isnt doing that badly. Couple of % above or below…its just the correlation of so many below that cumulatively causes a bigger number to appear account wise.
