My computer blue-screened and when I re-launched MT4 I was asked for the registration codes. When I hit register I was told they were invalid (running on too many computers). I’ve had issues when I’ve rebooted the PC (on weekends) where it would tell me my codes were invalid. I’ve disabled Windows Defender and un-installed AVG to try and get to the bottom of it…
Day started out good, but when my PC crashed a bunch of trades lost control… At least I’ll live to see tomorrow…
Not good but you need to get to the botto of why its blue screening.
Also thought about just using microsoft security essentials instead of defender and AVG?
microsoft security essentials is free and uses less resources than avg and defender and has a high virus/spyware detection rate.
Also ita not recommended to run 2 antivirus/spyware systems together as it really hampers perforamce as u hve two applications running scans and chexking the system compares to run with MSE
I have tested them all bit defender, mcafee, norton, symantec, zonealarm etc try it,it may resolve ur performance issues.
Also run chkdsk over the werkend, shoukd find and fix and errors and will give a clue if u have any corruptio on ur pc.
I didn’t even realize that Windows Defender was running (apparently it sets itself up when Win7 is installed). I’ve run AVG in the past, but it Black Belt EA do not get along.
The HDs in this box are relatively new ( > 6 months), the RAM was replaced a year, maybe a year and a half ago. I didn’t see the Blue Screen as the box automatically restarted Windows when it failed. The auto-restart can be disabled, but I’m going to see how it runs over the next few days before I decide to do that.
At least my EAs recovered my losses from the crash
Same for me Johnny; Smart FX -9.05%, Hyper -6.4% and MC2 -3.05% all in the space of 24 hours.
The thing that niggles me is that the SFX after 4 months is overall -ve. I will keep running it for now but I am interested in your experience/ opinion at what point do you decide to call time on an EA?
Hai,
i’ve made some changes in bh (eur-usd) and ms(eur-aud) in the inputtable the close-when-any-close tab to false, when there’s much DD all positions close at there respective time, sometimes only one trade is closed , and the position recovers,
when all positions close you’ve a big loss, for now it’s bearable,
Still in positive territory for the year. Not sure why I’m not getting as much DD as others. Out of box settings and I don’t stop it on the weekends. I do think the combination of the broker and VPS is a plus.
I’m using MBTrading free EXN account. PhotonVPS which MBTrading pays for it. That whole thing between MBT and PhotonVPS works pretty slick. I thought I would have to go through hoops every month to get reimbursed but they just automically deposit the VPS amount into my trading account without any request from me. I had an issue with them [PhotonVPS] over the weekend a couple weeks ago but it appears to be fixed. I also think $2k minimum in the account is best. All these things add up… the right minimimum in the account, the account type, the VPS, letting the EA’s do what they were programmed to do and when, using all the EA’s. Find what works and don’t change it.
